The 2006 Boats Afloat Show opened with a brand new boat, in a premium location, hidden under a huge camo-colored parachute. Only the aft deck was visible for the first day of the show. At an after-hours party attended by hundreds of invited guests, Adventure Yachts stripped away the parachute and literally unveiled the all new 2007 Regency 670 Motoryacht. It was a moment that will forever change the selection process for boaters interested in yachts anywhere close to this size category- it will be impossible to feel confident that all of the important options have been evaluated unless the Regency 670 has been afforded careful consideration.
Adventure Yachts owners Pat and Nikki Jutte, (as well as Ron Crawford and a perennially consistent team of some of the area's premiere yacht salespeople) have been increasingly involved in the Pacific Northwest's large motoryacht business. The firm represents a greater number of brand names than most dealers or brokerages. Adventure has earned a solid reputation for ethical and service oriented business practices, so an unusually high percentage of the business in larger and premium yachts consists of very satisfied previous customers trading up from older or smaller vessels.
The Regency 670 represents an important advance for Adventure Yachts as well as an enhanced opportunity for their current and future customers. Years of experience selling a variety of larger yachts and evaluating customer comments allowed Adventure to determine and specify every design parameter and all vessel specifications for the Regency 670. Adventure oversees manufacture of the Regency 670 at a brand new, dedicated factory in Taiwan, and is the exclusive worldwide distributor as well as the Pacific NW retailer.
Pat Jutte described some of the design priorities for the Regency 670. "We wanted to create an open and expansive feeling in a dramatic and impressive interior layout," said Pat. "We also went to great lengths to make the Regency exceptionally quiet, using state-of-the-art sound insulation materials and making some design modifications to ensure a quiet ride. Our customers tell us that leading edge technology and premium quality systems are critically important to them, so we have outfitted the Regency with the finest equipment available." Regency Yachts are available on a limited production basis from 50 to 90 feet.
Contributing to many of the special planning and construction ideas were the inspired owners, Curt Carlson and Dona Seely. They happily christened the vessel "Conundrum", and the name was fittingly lit with a unique neon back-lit stern.
Wow! As if all of that weren't excitement enough, there was another beautiful and special vessel christened during all of the festivities. She is a gorgeous all-custom 62 Pilothouse by President's Legend Division. Taken from the 630 Pilothouse plans, she was designed and built around the functional priorities of her experienced owners, Fred and Sidonia St. Germaine. She was proudly christened the "Shearwater" and was admired by all throughout the evening and also during the following days at the show.
This gala event was one of the most prestigious and exciting launch and christening presentations ever held at the Lake Union Boats Afloat Show, and Adventure Yachts wants to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone who contributed. The great food was catered by Jewel Catering. The great beer was provided by Mac & Jack. And the amazing entertainment was by Enjoy Productions and included tango dancing, fire dancers, and even a contorionist! Altogether this was an event to be remembered and a fabulous welcome for two very special Northwest yachts.
